Hershy

Hershy was turned in as a stray

HERSHY-ADOPTED

Hershy is a 2 year old purebred chocolate lab. She was turned into us as a stray, with an eye infection (that has been treated) and full of worms and quite skinny. She is putting on weight, has been wormed and had her shots. She weighs about 65#. She is very lovable and craves attention. She walks fairly well on leash. She has been bred, probably repeatedly as her underbelly is very saggy. Her tail is also docked about halfway and wags all of the time. Hershy knows the sit command and does not jump on people. She has been good with my kids, other dogs and basically ignores cats. She appears housebroken and has had no accidents in my house. She will be spayed, given a HW test, placed on Interceptor and Frontline before adoption. I also had a vet assessment of her underbelly to remove extra skin. The quote was 400.00-600.00. We don't have that money. Since she has been eating regularly, it appears to have started to snug up. If you can look past this Hershy would make anyone a wonderful companion.

UPDATE 12-16-02

Hershy has been a wonderful dog. She is cratetrained, Housebroken and LOVES to cuddle, thinks she is a lapdog! She wants to be around her people all of the time and follows us everywhere as if she was afraid we would disappear. She is great with other dogs and has continued to ignore my cats. She is gentle with my children. Do you have a place in your heart and home for Hershy?

COSTELLO

Costello is an adult female, beagle terrier mix. She may be Abbott's mom as they were found running together. She is very timid and appears that she maybe have been treated not so nicely. She is affectionate and loving. Good with my kids, other dogs and cats. She is in a warm house and regular food and is warming up to people quickly. She is UTD on shots (including rabies) and will be spayed, HW tested, on Interceptor and Frontline before adoption. Can you show Costello that not everyone will hurt her?

Adopting A Dog From Us

The Lyons Den Rescue requires an Adoption Contract, Vet References and a home visit. If you are interested in one of our dogs, please e-mail us to start this process. We place our dogs to indoor homes only. You must have some method of containing your pet while it is outside. If at any time you cannot keep a dog you have adopted from us, it is to be returned to The Lyons Den.
