We would like you to get to know FRANKIE

Frankie came to us in August 2002 as a 12 week old puppy that was living under a porch with her littermates.  They were distended with worms and very difficult to catch.  After an hour of running around our best volunteer BETH finally caught FRANKIE.  She then brought all five back and bathed and wormed them.  After five months all four of FRANKIE's littermates have been adopted into their forever homes.  There is only FRANKIE left.  FRANKIE is completely up to date on her vet care and on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks.  She is ready for a family to make her a part of their life.

FRANKIE was seriously undersocialized as a puppy and though she has been with The Lyons Den for almost five months, she is still skittish at times.  She is very affectionate if you let it be on her own terms.  She is Cratetrained and almost completely housebroken.  I am currently working on commands with her.  She is still so afraid at times that people cannot be trusted so it takes a while for her to warm up.  She feels safer with another dog around.  She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats and children of all ages, though very young children may make her nervous.  She has been around my 2 year old since she came to stay with The Lyons Den and is fine with her, but quick movements make her go and hide in her crate.  She is submissive to other dogs and people.  She will run away and hide if she gets nervous.  She has never shown any assertive behavior let alone aggressive behavior.  She is a sweet, sweet dog that only needs sometime who has patience for her.  Do you have the type of family FRANKIE could benefit from?  She has been waiting so long for her own family.
